Welcome to the Art O Neill Challenge 2011
Art is Back!!!! After the successful and inspiring Art O Neill Challenge in 2009, the 2011 edition will be held on the 7th of January. Join the challenge which starts from Dublin Castle, which will bring you on a journey of mind, body and spirit through the Dublin and Wicklow mountains at night as you retrace the epic historical journey of Art O Neill and Red Hugh O Donnell in 1592!
The 2009 Art O Neill Challenge was organised to raise money for The Stuart Mangan Trust, and what an adventure it was! Close to two hundred souls left Dublin castle at midnight, on a journey which tested them in more ways than they could have imagined. With over one hundred and forty finishers, the event proved to be a huge success with many people vowing to return to complete it again or to finish what they set out to do. Most people were surprised at how far they could push themselves when the going got tough and everyone finished with broad grins on their faces albeit with the odd blister or two! The 2010 Art promises to be bigger and better than ever and we are trying to welcome as many people as possible.

We were blessed with the night being frosty giving way to the boggy norm being frozen and solid underfoot and the beautiful full moon shedding so much light along the way. I am quite proud of myself for achieving what I did given that my main level of fitness is walking the dog briskly for a maximum of 2.5 hours a day on non-hilly ground.
